ABOUT US

Mahoning Automotive Design, LLC was created by Paul West. He has automotive expertise in business strategy, product planning, project management, vehicle development and manufacturing and hybrid electric vehicle engineering. Prior to starting this company, he worked for 8 years at the Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, MI.

Paul began his career at NASA Glenn Research Center in Cleveland, OH where he helped engineer the International Space Station and space experiments flown on board the Space Shuttle. He earned a B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from Youngstown State University in 1987 after completing two years of liberal arts studies at Xavier University. He has also completed Masters-level engineering coursework at Cleveland State University and MBA coursework at the University of Detroit, Mercy.

Paul has long studied automotive history and its pivotal products, people and strategies and applies this knowledge when planning future vehicles.

Mahoning Automotive Design leverages talent by collaborating with companies and individuals who possess key expertise and an innovative spirit.

Our primary partner in creating the Mahoning Custom Crossover Sedan was D & D Classic Restoration. Their renowned design and coachbuilding talents have led to the restoration of some of the greatest cars of the Classic Era as well as creation of a vast array of beautiful one-off customs. In addition to full vehicle builds, their expertise includes clay modeling and CAD/solid modeling.

Design support was provided by student co-ops working at D & D Classic from the University of Cincinnati's Industrial Design: Transportation Track program. Their exceptional talents, evidenced by the detailed surface development of the Mahoning Custom Crossover Sedan, demonstrate the school's rigorous curriculum and commitment to excellence.
